CURRENT VINTAGE: 2008 2008 started off with wild weather and rainstorms early in the year merging into a dry spring and summer. 2008 is known as a low-yielding, yet high-quality vintage from Napa Valley, which revealed a vintage that is very well structured, concentrated, and elegant. We are fortunate that our vineyard does not have a frost issue because of the gentle slope; otherwise, this growing season was intense from early bud break and a late and long frost season that wrecked havoc in many vineyards across the valley. The summer season continued with cooler and consistent temperatures, which the vines thrive in resulting in the grapes being able to linger on the vine with optimal hang time, excellent ripening and balanced structure. |
