Cuvée Claire
Cabernet Sauvignon

“Cultivated primarily from our estate vines, this 100% cabernet sauvignon is the cornerstone of our portfolio. Named after our daughter, the Cuvee Claire is allowed to work its magic slowly, which results in a complex, elegant wine that represents the best of Napa Valley.” – William Ballentine, Winemaker

Winemaker’s Notes 2013

The 2013 Cuvée Claire Cabernet Sauvignon bursts with intensity as soon as you pour it into the glass. As it opens, the wine reveals blackberry jam, cherries, spice, and sweet oak. The palate mirrors the nose with rich dark fruit and a touch of smoke. The extraordinary 2013 vintage will be a treasured addition to your collection for many years to come.

2013 Vintage Notes:

2013 was an extraordinary vintage. Rains in the winter of 2012/2013 primed the vineyards for an excellent growing season. The weather was warm and consistent through out bud break, which lead to an abundance of fruit and vigor in the vines. Harvest was earlier than usual but ideal growing conditions allowed for optimal ripening and extended hang time.
