Cuvée Jane Marie
Chardonnay

“During a trip to France my wife, Jane, fell in love with Chardonnay. As she had never shown favor to whites before, I felt inclined to rise to the challenge of her newfound palate. In 2011 we started production to honor Jane; the wine was carefully crafted to reflect the style of traditional White Burgundies, while still displaying the same elegance of our Cuvée Claire.” – William Ballentine, Winemaker

Winemaker’s Notes 2011

Our 2011 inaugural Cuvée Jane Marie has been a vision in the making for many years. Echoing a classic white burgundy, this 100% Chardonnay entices with its pale straw color and aromas of ripe melon, white peach and mineral notes. At first sip crisp green apple, Asian pear, pineapple, and essence of lemon fill your mouth with clean bright acidity and subtle creaminess. This wine is fresh, rich, and ripe with great depth and weight. Beautifully complex, this is a perfect blending of new world and old world styles.
